The Ant
By Bella Nielsen

The ant – knowing not the watching eye,
Roams the garden, by and by,
Comes upon a hill and climbs,
Upon the foe, the giant’s toe,
Is flicked, and flung headlong,
Hurled upon the sea of grass,
– Continues on his way, unfazed.

But that I, the courage of an ant possessed,
To mount my foes unfazed,
Untroubled, when hurled on my way,
Content to roam and climb again another day.

O Lord, may you grant,
To me, the courage of an ant?
